World AeroPress Championship Final Heads to Mexico, a Coffee-Producing Country, for the First Time

HUDES MAGAZINE — The World AeroPress Championship will bring its 2026 World Final to Mexico City on December 6, with national champions from more than 60 countries set to compete for the global title as part of a one-day coffee festival.

The event will be held at Frontón Bucareli, combining the championship with a broader program of coffee tastings, roaster showcases, food, drinks and music.

This will be the first time the World AeroPress Championship World Final is hosted in a coffee-producing country.

The 2026 competition has involved nearly 8,000 brewers through events held across more than 60 countries. The winners of those national competitions will meet in Mexico City for the final stage of the championship.

The competition will follow the familiar AeroPress format. Each competitor will have five minutes to brew a single cup of coffee and present it to the judges. The judges then select their preferred coffee, with competitors eliminated through successive rounds until one brewer is left to claim the 2026 World AeroPress Championship title.

The championship will headline a one-day coffee festival designed to bring together Mexico’s coffee community with visitors and participants from around the world.

A central part of the festival will be the Roasters Village, featuring 12 selected local and international roasters. More than 30 coffees will be available for tasting, while visitors will also be able to meet representatives from participating roasteries and vote for the 2026 Best of the Village.

The festival will also feature a tea counter serving teas from around the world, alongside equipment experiences from Comandante and AeroPress. Food, drinks and DJs will round out the event.

The Mexico City final marks a new setting for the global competition, bringing national AeroPress champions together in one of the world's coffee-producing countries.
