Sofia Saud Wins Spain AeroPress Championship 2025, Iván from Familia Osorio Takes Roasters Title
BARCELONA - The Spain AeroPress Championship once again became a highlight in the country’s specialty coffee calendar, gathering 60 of Spain’s best brewers for the 8th National Final held near the Sagrada Familia.
This year’s championship marked a milestone for Spain’s coffee scene. With 14 regional competitions and a total of 123 events since its inception, the AeroPress circuit continues to grow rapidly. More than 360 competitors registered for the 2025 season, the highest number to date, reflecting the unstoppable rise of Spain’s specialty coffee community.
After hours of intense brewing and precise judging, Sofia Saud emerged as Spain AeroPress Champion 2025. Iván from Familia Osorio claimed the title of Spain Roasters Champion 2025. Their winning coffee was an exceptional Geisha from Finca Renacer in Huila, Colombia, produced by Albaney Fajardo, a cup that perfectly embodied clarity, balance and sweetness.
The national judging panel, led by two-time World Cup Tasters Champion Gabriel Céspedes, brought together 14 of Spain’s most respected coffee professionals. Their expertise ensured that each brew was assessed on technique, flavor, and creativity, the three pillars that define the AeroPress spirit.
Beyond the competition, the event turned into a vibrant showcase of Spain’s specialty coffee culture. Attendees sampled coffees from top roasters such as Amuata, Candela, Rusc, Delicotte, Fortunato, Blend, Boscon, Jaleo, and Animal, alongside OOOTea from Madrid and Duval Bakery from Barcelona, pairing coffee, tea, and pastries in perfect harmony.
The Spain AeroPress Championship has also expanded its presence online, reaching more than 452,000 Instagram views in the past month, a sign that Spain’s coffee enthusiasm goes far beyond the brew bar.
This season’s success was the result of a collective effort led by national director Carlos Zavala, together with Hyde and Alice Liu, and the support of regional organizers including Fortunato Coffee Roasters, Astro Café Roasters, and others.
With each passing year, the Spain AeroPress Championship continues to push the boundaries of creativity and community, a shared culture. (Hudes Magazine)
